Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ophtholic Ultra is a preservative-free, sterile ophthalmic solution containing a combination of 0.4% sodium hyaluronate and 0.2% tamarind seed polysaccharide. Developed and manufactured by Sentiss, it is designed for the intensive hydration, lubrication, and protection of the ocular surface in patients suffering from dry eye disease (dry eye syndrome) and other ocular surface disorders. Sodium hyaluronate acts as a viscoelastic lubricant that mimics the aqueous layer of the natural tear film, promoting corneal epithelial healing and moisture retention. Tamarind seed polysaccharide is a natural mucoadhesive polymer that mimics ocular mucin, prolonging the residence time of the solution on the ocular surface. Together, these components provide synergistic, long-lasting relief from dryness, irritation, and discomfort, and are utilized post-operatively to prevent and correct ocular surface disturbances following cataract surgery.
