OPN-7486 is an orally administered small molecule dual inhibitor targeting colony stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R) and tropomyosin receptor kinase (TRK) family members. By inhibiting CSF1R, OPN-7486 blocks the recruitment and infiltration of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), which are known to promote tumor growth through immune suppression in the tumor microenvironment. The drug also inhibits TRK receptors (TrkA, TrkB, TrkC), which are implicated in oncogenic signaling pathways. Developed for oncology indications, OPN-7486 is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials for cancer. It was originally developed by Plexxikon and is now being advanced by Opna Bio[1][2][3][5][7].
