Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OpPacli is a nanoparticle-based formulation of paclitaxel developed by Pharma in Silica. It utilizes a patented 40 nm biocompatible silica-based nanoparticle platform to sequester and deliver paclitaxel, a taxane chemotherapy agent. The silica nanocarrier is designed to optimize the pharmacokinetic profile of paclitaxel, thereby enhancing therapeutic efficacy while reducing systemic toxicity compared to conventional formulations. Paclitaxel works by binding to and stabilizing microtubules, inhibiting their disassembly and leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. OpPacli is primarily being developed for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and other solid tumors.
