Overview

OpTcells (Organoid Primed T Cells) is an autologous adoptive cell therapy (ACT) developed by Peaches Biotech in collaboration with Harvard Medical School for the treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The therapeutic process involves a personalized approach where a patient's own lymphocytes are "educated" or primed through co-culture with three-dimensional organoids generated from the patient's own tumor cells. This priming step, based on technology licensed from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), is designed to activate and expand tumor-specific T cells that can then be re-infused into the patient to target and eliminate cancer cells. The approach aims to provide a paradigm shift in treating highly fatal diseases like PDAC by potentially preventing recurrence through a directed cellular immune response. The program is currently in preclinical development.
