Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OPTF01 is a chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy under development by Optieum Biotechnologies. It is designed to target fibroblast activation protein alpha (FAPα), a protein expressed on the surface of certain solid tumor cells and in the tumor microenvironment, including glioblastoma. By engineering T-cells with a CAR specific for FAPα, OPTF01 aims to directly attack cancer cells and disrupt the supportive environment that enables tumor growth. The therapy uses a lentiviral vector construct to deliver the CAR gene into patient-derived T-cells. As of mid-2025, OPTF01 remains in preclinical development for solid tumors such as glioblastoma[1][2][3][7].
