Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Opticyte Serum Tears is an autologous blood-derived biologic therapy developed by Merakris Therapeutics for the treatment of dry eye disease and other ocular surface disorders. Prepared from the patient's own blood serum, the product contains a concentrated mixture of naturally occurring growth factors, antibodies, albumin, and vitamin A. These components work synergistically to promote cellular proliferation, migration, and wound healing on the ocular surface, effectively mimicking the biochemical properties of natural tears. Merakris utilizes a specialized service model involving mobile phlebotomy and rapid point-of-care sterile processing to deliver individualized supplies of the serum tears directly to patients, typically in 90 or 120-day supplies.
