Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OptPA is an optimized variant of recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator (rtPA) engineered to improve the efficacy and safety of thrombolytic therapy for intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). It is designed to be non-neurotoxic, unlike conventional rtPA, and exhibits a decreased capacity to convert plasminogen into plasmin, thereby reducing potential bleeding events while maintaining similar fibrinolytic activity to rtPA. OptPA is a key component of O2L-001, a formulation designed for extended release to achieve high thrombolysis efficacy in ICH evacuation.
