Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Opulus-P is an ophthalmic fixed-dose combination solution developed and marketed by Sapient Laboratories. It contains phenylephrine (5% w/v), a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist, and tropicamide (0.8% w/v), an anticholinergic muscarinic receptor antagonist. Together, these active ingredients act synergistically to induce rapid and temporary pupil dilation (mydriasis) and paralysis of the ciliary muscle (cycloplegia). Opulus-P is primarily indicated for diagnostic eye examinations, such as fundoscopy and retinal evaluation, as well as for preoperative preparation in ophthalmic surgeries where pupil dilation is required.
