OraBan is a mucoadhesive protective paste developed by Sultan Healthcare for the symptomatic relief of oral mucosal irritations, including aphthous ulcers (canker sores), denture sores, and traumatic lesions. The product is formulated with a combination of gelatin, pectin, and sodium carboxymethylcellulose in a mineral oil and polyethylene base, which allows it to adhere effectively to moist oral tissues. Its primary mechanism of action is the creation of a physical, mechanical barrier that shields sensitive nerve endings from chemical and mechanical triggers such as food, drink, and tongue movement.
