Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OraCare is an over-the-counter oral care mouthwash developed and manufactured by Pascual Laboratories, a pharmaceutical company based in the Philippines. Its primary active ingredient is stabilized chlorine dioxide (ClO2), which functions as an antibacterial agent through an oxidative mechanism. Unlike many traditional mouthwashes, OraCare is formulated to be alcohol-free and sugar-free, specifically targeting anaerobic bacteria responsible for bad breath and plaque build-up while maintaining the mouth's natural flora. The product works by releasing oxygen that disrupts bacterial cell walls and neutralizes volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs), which are the primary cause of oral malodor. Introduced in 2004, it was the first locally manufactured mouthwash in the Philippines to utilize stabilized chlorine dioxide.
