The oral hexavalent reassortant rotavirus live attenuated vaccine (Vero cell) is a multivalent vaccine developed by the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products (WIBP), a subsidiary of China National Biotec Group (CNBG) and Sinopharm. The vaccine is produced using Vero cell culture technology and contains six human-bovine reassortant rotavirus strains. It is designed to provide broad protection against rotavirus gastroenteritis by targeting the most epidemiologically significant serotypes, including G1, G2, G3, G4, G8, and G9. Upon oral administration, the live-attenuated strains replicate in the intestinal tract to stimulate a robust mucosal and systemic immune response, inducing neutralizing antibodies against the viral VP7 and VP4 proteins. The vaccine was approved by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for the prevention of diarrhea caused by rotavirus infection in infants and young children.
