Overview
The oral live pentavalent reassortant rotavirus vaccine (Vero cell) is a live-attenuated vaccine developed by **Shenzhen Kangtai Biological Products Co., Ltd.** and its subsidiary, **Beijing Minhai Biotechnology Co., Ltd.** It is designed for the prevention of rotavirus gastroenteritis in infants and children. As a pentavalent vaccine, it typically contains five human-bovine reassortant rotavirus strains, which are engineered to express the most common human rotavirus serotypes (G1, G2, G3, G4, and P[8]) on a stable bovine rotavirus backbone. The vaccine is produced using Vero cell culture technology and is administered orally to stimulate mucosal and systemic active immunity. It is currently in early-stage clinical development in China as a domestic alternative to established international vaccines like RotaTeq.
