Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ORAL-LYO-FMT is an oral, lyophilized (freeze-dried) formulation of fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) developed by PharmaPlanter Technologies. It is a live biotherapeutic product designed to restore a healthy gut microbiome. The drug is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2 adaptive basket trial for its efficacy in treating diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) and preventing recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection (rCDI). [2] By introducing a diverse community of microorganisms via oral capsules, the therapy aims to modulate the recipient's gut flora, which is thought to alleviate the symptoms of IBS-D and prevent the recurrence of pathogenic infections like C. difficile.
