OraSoothe

OraSoothe is a line of topical oral care products, including rinses and gels (such as Sockit Gel), developed by Cook-Waite (a Septodont brand) for the management of oral pain and mucosal soothing. These products are FDA-cleared oral hydrogel wound dressings composed of natural, food-based ingredients, including mannose polysaccharides from Aloe vera, xylitol, and essential oils (cinnamon, clove, thyme, and wintergreen). OraSoothe works through a dual mechanism: it forms a protective physical barrier over injured oral tissues and binds positively charged sodium ions to inhibit the transmission of pain signals. Unlike traditional topical anesthetics, it provides pain relief without numbing. It is indicated for use after invasive dental procedures like extractions, implants, and periodontal surgeries, as well as for conditions like oral mucositis and aphthous ulcers.
