Overview

ORB-021 is a complex engineered biologic molecule developed by Orionis Biosciences for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. It is designed to target cytokine activation specifically to certain immune cells, aiming to enhance anti-tumor immune responses while reducing systemic toxicities commonly associated with cytokine therapies. The drug uses a mechanism in which its cytokine component remains inactive until it binds both the target cell and its receptor, thereby conferring full activity only in specific cellular contexts. This targeted approach seeks to minimize off-target effects and improve safety. ORB-021 is administered intravenously and is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for patients with advanced or refractory solid tumors who have exhausted standard therapies[1][2][3][7].
