Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ORBAT forte is a dental medical device developed by lege artis Pharma GmbH + Co. KG, primarily used in prosthetic dentistry and dental restoration. It is formulated as a viscous, yellowish-brown liquid gel solution containing 20% iron(III) sulfate (ferric sulfate). The product is indicated for gingival retraction, hemostasis, and tissue management during procedures such as impression-taking and the cementation of direct or indirect restorations. By promoting rapid coagulation and protein precipitation, it ensures clean visualization of the preparation margin. Additionally, ORBAT forte is utilized in pediatric endodontics for pulpotomy procedures. Unlike aluminum-based alternatives, this ferric sulfate formulation requires thorough rinsing to prevent the discoloration of gums, teeth, or restorative materials.
