Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Orbitaximod (SM-1) is an orally bioavailable, small-molecule Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) agonist developed by Shenzhen Zhenxing Pharmaceutical Technology. It is specifically formulated as enteric micro-pellet capsules to optimize gastrointestinal delivery and minimize systemic toxicity. As a TLR7 agonist, orbitaximod acts as an immunomodulator that stimulates the innate immune system, particularly activating antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells and macrophages. This activation leads to the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the subsequent induction of a robust T-cell-mediated antitumor immune response. The drug is currently being investigated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of advanced solid tumors and relapsed or refractory lymphomas, where it aims to overcome immune evasion in the tumor microenvironment.
