Overview

Ordesekimab is a fully human immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) monoclonal antibody that targets the pro-inflammatory cytokine interleukin 15 (IL‑15). By binding to IL‑15, ordesekimab inhibits its interaction with the common gamma chain of the IL‑2Rβ and IL‑15 receptor complex, but not with the IL‑15Rα chain. This blockade results in anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects, making it a potential therapy for autoimmune diseases. Ordesekimab has been primarily developed for celiac disease and vitiligo, with discontinued development in inflammation, lymphoma, psoriasis, and rheumatoid arthritis. The drug was originally developed by Genmab and has since involved Amgen, Celimmune, Immune Tolerance Network, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Provention Bio (now part of Sanofi), as developers[1][2][3][4][6][7].
