Overview

The ORF1p nanoplasmid DNA vaccine is an antibiotic-free DNA-based immunotherapy designed to target the Open Reading Frame 1 protein (ORF1p) of the LINE-1 (Long Interspersed Nuclear Element-1) retrotransposon. LINE-1 ORF1p is frequently overexpressed in various cancers, including early-onset colorectal cancer, and is associated with aging and tumor progression. The vaccine utilizes a nanoplasmid vector and is delivered via intramuscular electroporation (specifically using Ichor's TriGrid™ technology) to induce an immune response against ORF1p-expressing cells. In preclinical models, the vaccine has demonstrated the ability to delay tumor onset and inhibit tumor growth, suggesting potential applications in both cancer prevention and treatment.
