Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Organic Tears is an over-the-counter, USDA-certified organic lubricant eye drop formulated with 0.2% organic vegetable-derived glycerin in a simple aqueous solution of sodium chloride and water for the temporary relief of burning, irritation, and dryness of the eye. As an ophthalmic demulcent, glycerin increases the aqueous and lipid components of the tear film, providing a protective, lubricating layer over the ocular surface to reduce friction, stabilize tears, and guard against further irritation due to environmental or tear-deficiency causes. The product is preservative-free, free of synthetic chemicals and additives, and marketed by Eyeganics as a “clean-label” alternative to conventional artificial tears for patients with mild to moderate dry eye symptoms and chemical sensitivities.
