Overview

ORGCAR19.22 is a bispecific chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy being developed by Orgenesis for the treatment of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). The therapy is genetically engineered to simultaneously target two distinct antigens, CD19 and CD22, which are frequently expressed on the surface of malignant B cells. This dual-targeting strategy is specifically designed to address the challenge of antigen escape, a common mechanism of resistance where leukemia cells downregulate or lose CD19 expression following treatment with single-target CD19 CAR-T therapies. By targeting both CD19 and CD22, ORGCAR19.22 aims to provide a more robust and durable anti-tumor response, potentially reducing the rate of relapse. The product is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development, involving preclinical studies to support an Investigational New Drug application.
