Overview

Orgotein is a bovine-derived copper-zinc superoxide dismutase (SOD), an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of the superoxide radical into hydrogen peroxide and molecular oxygen. This antioxidant activity helps protect tissues from oxidative stress and inflammation. Orgotein has been used as an anti-inflammatory agent in both veterinary and human medicine. It is administered primarily by local injection for conditions such as degenerative joint disorders (osteoarthritis), soft tissue inflammation, chronic bladder inflammations (cystitis), radiation-induced injuries, Peyronie’s disease, and other inflammatory or rheumatic diseases. Its mechanism of action involves neutralizing reactive oxygen species at sites of inflammation to reduce tissue damage[2][3][4][5][6][7].
