Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Origio Sequential Media is a specialized system of culture media used in assisted reproductive technology (ART) to support the development of human embryos from the zygote stage to the blastocyst stage. Developed by Origio (a CooperSurgical company), the system typically involves two distinct media: Sequential Cleav, which is optimized for the cleavage stage (Day 1-3), and Sequential Blast, which is formulated to support the embryo from Day 3 to Day 5 or 6 (blastocyst stage). This sequential approach is designed to account for the shifting metabolic requirements of the embryo as it progresses through the reproductive tract, transitioning from a pyruvate and lactate-rich environment to one that is glucose-rich. The media are used in clinical IVF procedures to optimize blastulation rates and improve overall pregnancy outcomes.
