Orlance's food allergy nucleic acid immunotherapy is a preclinical-stage therapeutic candidate developed using the proprietary MACH-1 platform. This platform utilizes a high-efficiency gene gun to deliver gold microparticles coated with DNA or RNA directly into the epidermis, specifically targeting Langerhans cells and other antigen-presenting cells. In the context of food allergies, the therapy is designed to induce immune tolerance by promoting a shift from a Th2-biased allergic response to a Th1 or regulatory T-cell (Treg) response against specific food allergens. This needle-free, epidermal delivery method is intended to enhance the potency and safety of immunotherapy compared to traditional subcutaneous or oral routes, potentially providing long-term protection against severe allergic reactions.
