Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Regigreen Plus is an oral weight management medication developed by Penta Pharma. It is a combination product containing orlistat, a potent gastric and pancreatic lipase inhibitor, and chromium picolinate, a trace mineral used to support glucose metabolism. Orlistat works locally in the gastrointestinal tract by forming a covalent bond with the active serine site of lipases, preventing the hydrolysis of dietary fats (triglycerides) into absorbable free fatty acids and monoglycerides. This results in approximately 30% of ingested fat passing through the intestines unabsorbed. Chromium picolinate is included to potentially enhance insulin sensitivity and assist in appetite regulation. The product is indicated for the treatment of obesity and weight maintenance in conjunction with a reduced-calorie diet.
