Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Orocal** is a calcium supplement containing **calcium carbonate** (1250 mg per tablet, equivalent to 500 mg elemental calcium) available as chewable or suckable tablets. It is indicated for calcium deficiency during growth, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and as a calcium supplement in **osteoporosis**. Variants like **Orocal D3** or **Orocal Vitamin D3** combine calcium carbonate with **cholecalciferol (vitamin D3)** (400 IU) for elderly patients with combined calcium and vitamin D deficiency or as adjunct to osteoporosis treatments when dietary intake is insufficient. It supports bone health by providing essential calcium for bone mineralization and, when combined with vitamin D3, enhances intestinal calcium absorption and bone metabolism. Contraindicated in hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, kidney stones, and prolonged immobilization.[1][2][3][9]
