Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Orogen Therapeutics' IL-17 program is a small-molecule inhibitor of Interleukin-17 (IL-17) currently in the IND-enabling stage of development. Designed as a "Small-molecule Alternative to Biologics" (SMAB), it aims to provide a more convenient therapeutic option for patients with inflammatory conditions such as plaque psoriasis and hidradenitis suppurativa. The program features a novel composition of matter and a potentially novel mechanism of action, positioning it as a potential best-in-class alternative to injectable monoclonal antibodies that target the IL-17 pathway. It is the most advanced program in Orogen's pipeline and includes a primary development candidate along with a backup candidate.
