Orogen TL1A program

Orogen Therapeutics' TL1A program is a preclinical-stage small molecule designed as an alternative to biologic therapies for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease. The drug targets Tumor Necrosis Factor-like Ligand 1A (TL1A), a cytokine involved in mucosal inflammation and fibrosis. By utilizing a small molecule modality, the program aims to provide a "Small Molecule Alternative to Biologics" (SMAB) with potentially improved convenience and novel mechanisms of action compared to existing monoclonal antibodies. It is currently in the lead optimization phase and is noted for its first-in-class potential with a novel composition of matter.
