Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OrthADAPT is a bioimplant composed of highly organized Type I collagen derived from equine (horse) pericardium. It is designed as a biocompatible scaffold for the repair, reinforcement, and augmentation of soft tissues such as tendons and ligaments in musculoskeletal procedures. The implant undergoes proprietary crosslinking and sterilization processes to enhance resistance to enzymatic degradation while supporting tissue ingrowth and remodeling. Its primary indications include reinforcement of soft tissue defects in orthopedic surgeries, including sports medicine applications and foot/ankle procedures. While it has been used in thousands of patients with generally favorable results for ligament reconstruction and tendon repair, its xenogenic (non-human animal-derived) nature can elicit foreign-body reactions or immune responses in some cases[3][4][7][10].
