Ortho ATI (OrthoATI™) is an autologous tenocyte implantation (ATI) cell therapy developed by Orthocell Limited for the treatment of chronic tendon injuries. The therapy involves harvesting a small biopsy of healthy tendon tissue from the patient, from which tenocytes (tendon cells) are isolated and expanded in a TGA-licensed laboratory. These expanded cells are then re-injected into the site of injury under ultrasound guidance to promote tissue repair and regeneration. Ortho ATI is indicated for conditions such as lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), rotator cuff tendinopathy, Achilles tendinopathy, and gluteal tendinopathy. It is commercially available in Australia and other regions outside the United States, where it is classified as a Class 3 Biological product.
