OrthoFlo is a **human amniotic fluid-derived allograft biologic** developed by **MiMedx Group** for orthopedic and sports medicine use, particularly intra-articular supplementation of synovial fluid in the knee joint. It is derived from donated amniotic fluid collected from healthy mothers undergoing scheduled Caesarean section and contains naturally occurring growth factors, cytokines, chemokines, regulatory proteins, carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, electrolytes, and hyaluronic acid. Rather than acting through a single defined molecular target, OrthoFlo is intended for **homologous use** as a joint-lubricating and cushioning tissue product that may help protect articular surfaces and reduce inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis and soft-tissue or joint injuries. The product has been described in a lyophilized, terminally sterilized single-use vial presentation with ambient storage and extended shelf life.
