Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OrthoSkill is an autologous cell therapy consisting of expanded adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADSCs) developed by the Bioscience Institute. It is designed for the treatment of mild to moderate bone and cartilage degeneration, joint pain, and osteoarthritis (such as in the knee, hip, shoulder, and ankle). The therapy involves harvesting a small amount of adipose tissue from the patient, isolating and expanding the mesenchymal stem cells in a laboratory over several weeks, and then injecting the expanded cells directly into the affected joint. Once injected, these stem cells differentiate into chondrocytes, osteoblasts, and tenocytes, and release trophic and immunomodulatory factors to promote tissue regeneration, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain.
