Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**OrthoVisc-T** is an ultra-pure, high molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HA) viscosupplement developed by Anika Therapeutics for peritendinous injection to treat chronic lateral epicondylosis (tennis elbow). It provides lubrication at the site of tendon injury, promoting tendon gliding and creating an optimal environment for healing, which relieves pain and restores function. Administered as two weekly injections around the affected osteotendinous junction, it has demonstrated statistically significant improvements in pain reduction, function, and grip strength through 6 months in clinical studies, with a low risk of adverse events. It received CE Mark approval in Europe in 2016 but lacks U.S. FDA approval.[1][3][12]
