Orutexer Oral Ointment

Orutexer Oral Ointment (オルテクサー口腔用軟膏) is a topical corticosteroid formulation containing triamcinolone acetonide (0.1%) as its active ingredient. Developed by Bee Brand Medico Dental for prescription use and Fukuchi Pharmaceutical for over-the-counter (OTC) use, it is specifically designed to treat oral mucosal lesions. The ointment utilizes a specialized adhesive base (containing carboxyvinyl polymer) that adheres firmly to the wet oral mucosa, forming a protective gel barrier that resists being washed away by saliva. Triamcinolone acetonide exerts potent anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and immunosuppressive effects by binding to and activating the glucocorticoid receptor, thereby reducing pain and promoting healing. It is primarily indicated for chronic desquamative gingivitis, refractory stomatitis (canker sores/aphthous ulcers), and glossitis accompanied by erosion or ulceration.
