ORX-102 is a preclinical small-molecule inhibitor of β1 integrin (ITGB1) being developed by OncoRx Pharmaceuticals. β1 integrins are key cell surface receptors that mediate interactions between cells and the extracellular matrix, influencing critical processes such as cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and survival. In many cancers, β1 integrin is overexpressed and associated with tumor invasion, metastasis, and resistance to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. ORX-102 is designed to target these pathways across a variety of difficult-to-treat malignancies, including pediatric brain tumors like Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) and recurrent medulloblastoma, as well as adult cancers such as glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), melanoma, and various solid tumors of the lung, breast, colon, and pancreas.
