Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Oshadi R is an orally administered formulation of ribonuclease (RNase) encapsulated in the proprietary Oshadi carrier system, developed by Oshadi Drug Administration Ltd. The Oshadi carrier is a non-aqueous, oil-based delivery platform designed to protect sensitive proteins and enzymes from degradation by stomach acid and proteases, thereby enabling the oral delivery of biologics that would otherwise require injection. Oshadi R is intended to exert anti-tumor activity by utilizing RNase to degrade RNA within or around cancer cells, potentially disrupting protein synthesis and inducing apoptosis. It has been evaluated in Phase I and Phase II clinical trials for various malignancies, including relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML), acute lymphoid leukemia (ALL), metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), basal cell carcinoma (BCC), and malignant mesothelioma, typically in combination with Oshadi D (a DNase formulation) and standard chemotherapy regimens.
