Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Osiramestrocel (Furestem) is an allogeneic mesenchymal stem cell therapy derived from human umbilical cord blood, developed by Kangstem Biotech. It is designed to treat various immune-mediated and degenerative diseases, including atopic dermatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, and osteoarthritis. Osiramestrocel works by sensing inflammatory cytokines and antigens in the microenvironment and secreting immunomodulatory factors (such as prostaglandin E2, transforming growth factor-beta, and indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase) to restore immune homeostasis and promote tissue regeneration. For knee osteoarthritis, it is formulated as a combination product with a cartilage acellular matrix (known as OSCA or Furestem-OA Kit) to enhance cartilage repair and provide rapid pain relief.
