Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Osmonar is an intranasal gel medical device developed by Laboratori Baldacci for the treatment of nasal mucosa dryness (dry rhinitis) and irritation, as well as upper respiratory tract conditions. It is formulated with a synergistic combination of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (PCA) and hyaluronic acid (sodium salt). PCA acts as an osmoprotective and moisturizing agent, while hyaluronic acid provides mucoadhesive, hygroscopic, and viscosifying properties. Together, they form a protective barrier film over the nasal mucosa, shielding it from external irritants like dust and allergens, promoting mucosal rehydration, and facilitating the physiological repair and recovery of respiratory function.
