Overview
Osoresnontrine is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of phosphodiesterase 9A (PDE9A), developed by Boehringer Ingelheim. It is being investigated for the treatment of schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, and psychotic disorders. Preclinical studies suggest it may enhance memory in rodents. The drug has shown high selectivity for PDE9A (IC50 = 52 nM) with weak activity against other phosphodiesterases[3][6][7]. Its mechanism involves increasing intracellular cyclic GMP levels by inhibiting PDE9A, which may improve cognitive function[3][4][6].
