OssiPatch is a transdermal delivery system of osimertinib, a third-generation, irreversible epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). Developed by Luye Pharma Group, it is specifically designed to address the needs of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients who suffer from dysphagia or other gastrointestinal issues that make oral administration difficult. By delivering the drug through the skin, OssiPatch maintains stable plasma concentrations of osimertinib while bypassing first-pass metabolism and reducing gastrointestinal side effects. Its mechanism involves potent inhibition of both EGFR-sensitizing mutations and the T790M resistance mutation, while sparing wild-type EGFR to minimize skin and gastrointestinal toxicity.
