OSSM-001 is an allogeneic mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy developed by Ossium Health. It consists of bone marrow-derived MSCs and is designed as a cell replacement therapy to treat diseases characterized by inflammation and tissue damage. The primary mechanism involves the replacement or modulation of damaged or dysfunctional cells in affected tissues. OSSM-001 has been investigated primarily for refractory perianal fistulas in Crohn’s disease, with additional research interest in graft versus host disease and radiation injuries. The product is administered as a single intravenous or parenteral injection at specified doses (100 million or 300 million cells). Clinical development has reached Phase 1 for several indications; however, some trials have been withdrawn prior to enrollment[1][2][3][4][5][7].
