Overview
Osteo Pharm is an oral fixed-dose combination dietary supplement and therapeutic agent developed and manufactured by Pharma Chemie. It is formulated as a tablet containing 500 mg of calcium carbonate and 400 IU of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Osteo Pharm is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiencies, as well as the management of associated bone disorders such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, and hypoparathyroidism. Calcium carbonate provides elemental calcium to support bone mineralization and density, acting as an agonist at the extracellular calcium-sensing receptor (CASR). Cholecalciferol is metabolized in vivo to its active form, calcitriol, which binds to the intracellular vitamin D receptor (VDR) to enhance intestinal calcium absorption and maintain systemic calcium homeostasis.
