Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Osteobrix-CT is a combination pharmaceutical product developed by Stevia Pharmaceuticals, primarily indicated for the management of bone health and calcium deficiency. It is formulated as an oral tablet containing calcitriol, calcium carbonate, and zinc. Calcitriol, the active form of vitamin D3, acts as an agonist at the vitamin D receptor (VDR) to enhance intestinal calcium absorption and regulate bone mineralization. Calcium carbonate provides a concentrated source of elemental calcium, while zinc serves as an essential mineral cofactor for enzymes involved in bone matrix synthesis and osteoblastic activity. Osteobrix-CT is used to treat or prevent conditions such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, and hypocalcemia.
