Overview

OT-701 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody fragment (Fab) biosimilar of ranibizumab, developed by Ocumension Therapeutics. It is designed to treat various retinal vascular disorders by targeting and neutralizing vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A). By binding to the receptor-binding site of active forms of VEGF-A, including the cleaved form VEGF110, OT-701 prevents the growth of abnormal blood vessels and reduces leakage (edema) in the retina. The drug is administered via intravitreal injection and is currently being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials for indications such as neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), diabetic macular edema (DME), retinal vein occlusion (RVO), and myopic choroidal neovascularization (mCNV).
