otilimab

Otilimab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), a cytokine involved in the inflammatory response. By neutralizing GM-CSF, otilimab blocks its interaction with the cell surface receptor, thereby reducing inflammation mediated by macrophages and other immune cells. Otilimab was developed primarily for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, especially in patients with inadequate response to standard therapies. It has also been investigated for use in osteoarthritis, multiple sclerosis, respiratory distress syndrome (including severe COVID-19), and glycogen storage disease type II. The drug was originally discovered by MorphoSys and later developed by GSK after they assumed exclusive worldwide responsibility for its development and commercialization[1][3][4].
