Overview

Otlertuzumab (TRU-016) is a humanized anti-CD37 protein therapeutic that induces direct caspase-independent apoptosis of malignant B cells and triggers antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity. Rituximab is a chimeric monoclonal antibody targeting CD20 on B lymphocytes, leading to cell lysis through complement-dependent cytotoxicity and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. The combination of otlertuzumab and rituximab has been investigated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory indolent B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Clinical studies have shown that this combination can be well tolerated and induce responses in patients with relapsed disease[2][6][8].
