Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Otoclik is a multi-action otic solution developed and marketed by Vin Medicament for the treatment of various ear infections and inflammatory conditions. The formulation is a combination of four active ingredients: ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA replication by targeting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV; beclomethasone dipropionate, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, swelling, and itching; clotrimazole, an antifungal agent that disrupts fungal cell membrane synthesis by inhibiting lanosterol 14-alpha demethylase; and lignocaine hydrochloride, a local anesthetic that provides rapid pain relief by blocking sodium channels in nerve fibers. This combination is primarily indicated for the management of otitis externa and other ear conditions where bacterial or fungal involvement is suspected alongside inflammation and pain.
