Overview

Otviciclib is a preclinical-stage, orally bioavailable small molecule drug candidate developed by Vichem Chemie Research in partnership with the Medical University of Innsbruck. It functions as a broad-spectrum cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitor, specifically targeting CDK1, CDK2, CDK3, CDK5, CDK9, and CDK16, while also inhibiting the WNT signaling pathway. Identified through phenotypic assays that simulate the tumor microenvironment, otviciclib has demonstrated the ability to kill cancer stem cells and tumor cells with low nanomolar potency. It is currently being investigated for the treatment of multiple myeloma and various solid tumors, including colorectal cancer, glioblastoma, and atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors (ATRT).
