Overview

OTX-TP is an intracanalicular insert designed to deliver a preservative-free formulation of the prostaglandin analog travoprost for the reduction of intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The device uses a bioresorbable hydrogel-based technology to provide sustained drug release over up to 90 days. Its mechanism of action is as a prostaglandin F2 alpha agonist that increases uveoscleral outflow to lower IOP. Developed by Ocular Therapeutix, it aims to address poor adherence associated with daily eye drop regimens by providing a long-lasting alternative[1][2][3][5][9].
