Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OTX2-7 is an investigational oral small molecule sclerostin inhibitor being developed by OssiFi for the treatment of bone disorders, including osteoporosis and osteogenesis imperfecta, as well as the prevention of bone fractures in patients with low bone density. Sclerostin is a glycoprotein secreted by osteocytes that acts as a negative regulator of bone formation by inhibiting the Wnt/LRP signaling pathway. By blocking sclerostin, OTX2-7 is designed to stimulate bone formation (anabolic effect) and improve bone strength, offering an oral alternative to injectable anti-sclerostin monoclonal antibodies.
